Accounts and Library Sync in tinytunes DJ
Understand what happens when you log in to tinytunes DJ: what data is synced to the cloud, what stays local, and how multi-device behavior works.
tinytunes DJ works completely offline and without an account,
but signing in can help your library structure follow you across devices.
This guide explains:
- What signing in changes,
- What syncs (and what doesn't),
- What to expect when you use multiple machines.
1. Signing in and out
- When you're signed out:
- Your library is saved on this device only.
- When you're signed in:
- tinytunes DJ can sync your library structure to your account so you can see it on other devices.
Signing out pauses syncing. It does not automatically delete your local library.
2. What syncs (and what doesn't)
Syncs to your account:
- Track entries and metadata (title/artist/BPM/duration and similar info).
- Set lists (including deck queues and set-specific cue points).
Does not sync:
- Your actual audio files.
- This device's access to your folders/files.
- Playlists (currently saved on this device only).
3. Using multiple devices with local files
When you sign in on another device, you may see tracks that were added on a different machine. If the audio file isn't on this device (or tinytunes DJ doesn't have permission to access it), that track won't play until you add the files here.
To make a local track playable on a second device:
- Copy the audio files to that device.
- Add the same folder(s) in tinytunes DJ.
- Rescan if prompted.
4. "Some local files are not available" message
If tinytunes DJ detects local tracks that it can't access on this device, you may see a message/modal when opening the Library.
- Use SYNC (or OPEN FOLDER) to reconnect your music folder and restore access.
- Use CANCEL to dismiss it for now.
Tips:
- Keep your music in a stable folder location.
- If you move/rename folders, re-add the new folder location.
If you understand which parts of your library sync and which parts stay on each device, you'll have a much more predictable setup for practice and gigs.
